NJ Guide - Middlesex CountyJuly 30, 2003

Welcome to Southern and Central Middlesex County, an area characterized by friendly suburban neighborhoods, modern growth and an array of bays, rivers and inlets that provide picturesque views and summer sports.

One of the four original counties in Eastern Jersey, Middlesex was established in 1675. Early settlers were drawn to the area because of its ideal location between New York and Philadelphia. This same quality still draws people to the area and has created an assortment of rapidly growing communities.

This is the area covered by the Sentinel and Suburban newspapers, including the towns of East Brunswick, Helmetta, Jamesburg, Milltown, Monroe, North Brunswick, South River, Spotswood, Old Bridge, Sayreville and South Brunswick.

Southern and Central Middlesex County is largely made up of bedroom communities with excellent school systems and many transportation options. Conveniences - from supermarkets to shopping malls - are easily accessible, making the area a highly attractive place to live and work. Perhaps that's why so many people choose to call the area home.
