East Brunswick

Carol Lukosevic smiles at Visa, a feathered attraction at the 28th annual Village Street Fair, held in East Brunswick's historic village.

With its desirable mix of rural and suburban life, and booming commercial districts, East Brunswick is considered by many to be one of the most attractive communities in New Jersey. The township's wide array of housing types - from the townhouse and apartment complexes and single-family homes on the eastern side of town to the open spaces and larger homes on the western side - plays host to a diverse residential population.

The township's award-winning school system is considered to be among the best in the region. In recent years, numerous schools have won the Blue Ribbon designation from the federal government, and in the 2001-02 school year three of the district's schools were honored with the state's Best Practice awards.

Residents enjoy more than a dozen municipal parks, including the unique Butterfly Park off Rues Lane, the first such park in the state to be owned by a municipality.

The township is also the owner of the renowned Crystal Springs Aquatic Center, which is just one example of the excellent recreational offerings the community enjoys.
